There are so many styles and price points when it comes to wedding photography. Some couples prioritize cost, while others focus on style—but the most important factor? Finding a photographer you connect with!

When searching for a photographer, ask yourself:

• Do I love their editing style (moody, bright, editorial, film, etc.)?
• Can I imagine myself in their photos?
• Do they feel like someone I’d want by my side all day?

Even if you’re on a budget, consider photography an investment—you can adjust other areas to make room for the one thing that lasts forever: your wedding photos!

Step 3: Learn About Their Process From Start To Finish

FIRST CONTACT

When you first reach out to me about your wedding, I will send you an email detailing the basics when working with me, and then we schedule a discovery call!

THE DISCOVERY CALL

If you’re excited about what I offer, we’ll set up a FaceTime call to chat more! This is one of my favorite parts because we’ll get to know each other and dive into your wedding plans.

During this call, we’ll see if we’re the perfect fit, and I’ll learn more about your vision so I can craft a customized wedding photography collection just for you.

After our chat, I’ll send over your personalized collections. Once you’re ready to book, just let me know—and that’s when the magic begins!

I’ll then send over the contract and invoice for the non-refundable retainer. Once those are squared away, your date is officially locked in! To celebrate, I’ll mail you a welcome box to officially welcome you into the HMP family.

YOUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Every wedding package includes an engagement session, and for good reason! It’s the perfect chance to:
✨ Get comfortable in front of the camera
✨ Learn posing tips so your wedding photos feel effortless
✨ Capture beautiful images for your save-the-dates

PRE-EVENT CONSULTATION

A few months before the wedding, we’ll finalize all the details over a final video chat, including:

✔ Your wedding photography timeline

✔ Vendor coordination

✔ Must-have family photo lists (ditch that shotlist for the rest of the wedding, this is the only one we will need!)

Having everything planned ahead of time means you can simply enjoy your wedding day!

FINAL PAYMENT

The final payment for your wedding is due a month before the big event! You can pay your balance in increments or in full, it’s entirely up to you.

TIME TO CELEBRATE!

The big day is finally here! My job? To capture your love story while you relax, celebrate, and soak in every second.

GALLERY & ALBUM DELIVERY

Right after your wedding day, you’ll receive a set of sneak peeks—just like your engagement session—so you can relive the magic right away!

Within two weeks, I’ll feature your wedding on the blog with all the classic moments and my favorite highlights. Once your film scans are in, your full gallery will be delivered—usually within four weeks. If you’ve chosen an album, you’ll select your favorite images, and I’ll design the layout for your approval before sending it off to print!

1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Your first year of marriage will fly by, and what better way to celebrate than with a one-year anniversary session? If your collection includes this, we’ll set up a fun, relaxed session to mark this special milestone.

KEEPING IN TOUCH

Even after your wedding day, I love staying connected! Whether you need another session, starting a family, prints, or just want to reminisce about your amazing wedding, I’m always here.
