One of my favorite parts of the wedding day is documenting the First Look. I believe these images not only give you more photos, but it’s also a way to reduce stress on your wedding day.
I never want to force any of my couples to do a First Look but I want them to make sure they know the benefits of doing one. Not everyone knows what they are and how amazing they are! People think about how they aren’t traditional and it’s immediately out of the picture.
When I was planning my wedding, I almost didn’t do one but I realized how much I wanted to do one myself after learning about the benefits. The reason I didn’t want to do one is because I wanted a reaction from my groom, I wanted Matt to be teary eyed and joyful. Every bride wants that right?
Did you know even when my couples do their First Looks, they still tear up during their ceremony? No matter what, you will feel stunning coming down that aisle girl!
Wanting to know what you can expect from me as your wedding photographer? Head on over to this blog post, ‘What To Expect From Me As Your Wedding Photographer.’
Ok, here are just some of the benefits of a First Look!
40% MORE PORTRAITS
You are paying a lot for your photographs! When you do a First Look, you get more images of the two of you. You can decorate your home with these photos! These images will be so special to the both of you. Get the most out of your money!
EXTEND YOUR DAY
First Looks give you three extra hours of your wedding day. You do the ceremony, then rush through portraits, and then its reception time.
When you do a First Look, your time is extended. You aren’t rushed through portraits, you will get to enjoy them and have fun. And bonus, your album will be full of these photos which help tie your images together.
ENJOY THE SURPRISE FREELY
This is the time to be alone with your loved one. When you’re walking down the aisle, he won’t be able to compliment you.
He can’t hold you, he can’t speak to you. You two will have to wait until the ceremony is over for him to react. It’s not the same when you have to wait to react, right?
YOUR TIME ALONE
First Looks allow you to be alone with your significant other. Most of the other times during your wedding, you won’t have the time alone together at all. You two will be able to share that intimate time together, it’ll be your only time alone allll day.
It will also put you in a great mood for your bride and groom portraits. They can be rushed after family formals and it’s hard to get back in that mood once you’re around family. The images right after First Looks are always super adorable and beautiful.
NERVES? GONE!
Did you know the First Look helps get rid of your nerves? Grooms don’t understand how nervous they can be, trust me…they will be. Most of my couples have told me they felt sooo much more relaxed after the First Look during the ceremony.
However, when it comes to First Looks, there can be some mistakes! Make sure you read about the ‘5 Mistakes To Avoid‘!
Doesn’t this just sound amazing? Your wedding day…stress-free with some alone time with your spouse!
