You’re getting married—ahh, so exciting!! 🎉 With so much to plan, there are some things that only you can take care of, even if you have a wedding planner to ease the stress. Here are 6 things you don’t want to forget when planning your big day! And because I’ve got your back, I’m sharing 6 more in my freebie—grab it when you sign up for my email list!
1) YOUR FINAL GOWN FITTING
When you purchase your wedding dress, it likely won’t be a perfect fit right away, so it’s a good idea to set aside some money for alterations. You’ll have a series of fittings, and for your final one, bringing your best friend who will help you put on your dress is key. They will learn how your bustle works and take note of any important details from the specialist—helping everything run smoothly on your wedding day!

2) YOUR HONEYMOON
If you’re heading straight to your honeymoon the day after your wedding, be sure to pack a few days in advance! Open your notes app, make a list of everything you’ll need, and pin it for easy access—this way, you won’t forget a thing!

3) GETTING READY ATTIRE
When you’re getting your hair and makeup done, I always recommend robes or PJ sets for my brides! They’re comfy, cute, and—most importantly—won’t mess up your glam when it’s time to change into your dress. Here are some great places to find stylish getting-ready attire:
4) GRATUITY
When planning your wedding, be sure to set aside some money for vendor tips! Your vendors put in so much work to bring your vision to life, and while tips aren’t required, they’re always appreciated.
5) DO-NOT-PLAY LIST
It’s a good idea to make a “do-not-play” list for your DJ! Skipping this step could lead to some unexpected (and unwanted) song choices on your wedding day.
6) TRANSPORTATION
There are two key transportation plans to sort out: how your wedding party is getting to each location and how you and your spouse will leave at the end of the night. Your wedding party can split into multiple cars, or you can hire a limo, party bus, or other group transportation.
As for your grand exit, decide in advance—are you driving yourselves home or booking a getaway car? If your ceremony and reception are in different locations, don’t forget about your guests! Consider providing transportation and always factor in extra time for traffic and delays.
