Wedding veils, they’re one of my favorites. There are so many different styles and lengths and they add some fun to your day! Picking the right veil can be a challenge but once you find the perfect one, it will transform your wedding day.
WHAT TO CONSIDER
HAIR
Before you pick out your veil, make sure you have a hairstyle in mind for your wedding. When you go into a bridal shop, show your consultant your hair inspiration. They can help pick out the perfect veil along with your dress.
YOUR DRESS
Once you’ve found your dress, it’s time to find a veil that flows perfectly with it. Don’t be afraid to try on different lengths and styles of veils with your dress, you never know what you’ll love until it’s on!
If your dress has an open back, you’re going to want to find a veil that doesn’t hide that design! If your dress has a lot of detail, you will want to find a veil that is more simple (and vice versa).

COLOR
Sometimes pure white veils can look blue (which is also true with pure white dresses as well)! The perfect colors for photos are off-white, creams, and light ivories.
BUDGET
I know we all dislike talking about budget, but it is super important you stick with it. Are you wanting to stay around the $200-$400 mark or are you willing to invest in a veil that’s $1,000-$2,500? Whichever you decide, no your stopping point.
LOCATION
Location is so important mostly because of the weather. If your venue is located near a beach, it’ll be a little windier than a wedding that’s indoors. Keep weather in mind when picking your veil (and every other wedding day detail!)
VEIL LENGTHS
SHORT : Bird cage and shoulder length veils are great for a traditional / vintage look.
MEDIUM : Elbow and knee-length are perfect for a classy look but also keeping it lightweight.
LONG : Chapel and cathedral veils are awesome for brides who want to make a statement!
FLOWY VEIL SECRETS
Every bride dreams of those flowy veil shots but sadly, not every veil can fly. Here are some secrets to a flowy veil!
Veil details : Avoid heavy beading and detail.
Layers : One layer of fabric will fly easier than multiple layers.
Fabric : Fine tulle flies more freely.
I’m so excited for your journey on finding the perfect wedding attire, it’s truly one of the best parts of planning! Now go find that dream gown and veil!
Which veil have you been eyeing lately? I am loving the veils with little floral accents, so pretty and romantic!
