Newfields Engagement Photos with Sydni + Drew

There’s something special about photographing couples at Newfields in Indianapolis. The gardens, the architecture, and the timeless feel make it one of the best Indianapolis engagement photo locations. For Sydni and Drew, it was even more meaningful, Newfields has been part of their love story since their very first date! Sydni and Drew first crossed paths at Marian University, where they were both on the cross country and track teams. Their story began at a team Christmas party, when a little friendly matchmaking (and a few drinks) led to an all-night conversation and a marathon of Friends. That night sparked a connection that grew into a relationship lasting through college and beyond.

Their First Date at Newfields

It feels almost full-circle that their first official date was also at Newfields. After meeting during winter break, Drew drove down to Indianapolis to take Sydni to the Winterlights at Newfields. The tradition has stuck, they still go back every year to relive that magical night.

Fast forward five years, and Drew planned an unforgettable proposal. After weeks of suspicion (and plenty of playful interrogations from Sydni), he pulled off a surprise scavenger hunt across Indianapolis. Each clue led to the next location until the journey ended at Marian University, right where they first met. There, in front of the fountain, Drew asked the question Sydni had been waiting for. They celebrated with family and friends afterward, kicking off this new chapter with love, laughter, and the perfect mix of surprise and joy.
