Last month, I put out a post helping you find the perfect veil. If you missed it, check it out right here! Now that you’ve found the veil, let’s talk about when to wear it on your wedding day.
Ok, I’m going to say something crazy…and keep in mind, this is just my opinion based on experiences!
I believe you shouldn’t wear your veil during your first look with your groom. Instead, wait until it’s ceremony time to put it on. Crazy right?!
Here is why I recommend it:
YOUR VEIL IS SAFE
During your first look, the first thing you want to do is hold each other. You’ve been waiting allll day to see each other! Veils are delicate and when you go in for a tight hug, you run the risk of your groom tugging on it and possibly ripping the veil.
Wrinkle, stain, and rip free! From getting it wrinkled and torn to accidentally letting your florals rest on it and putting a stain on the veil. When you wait until pre-ceremony, you don’t have to worry as much during the day from these events happening. Keep your day stress-free!
FRESH LOOKS
Not only will you feel like a million bucks coming down the aisle, your groom will think so too! It’s like the first look all over again, but with a new look!
ADDS VARIETY
Usually there are two times in the day for portraits. One during the first look and one during sunset (just married). You’ll have photos without your veil and photos with it.
Believe me when I say this but veils are 10x more dreamier during sunset!
With that being said, again, this is just my opinion. If you want to wear that gorgeous veil all day, go for it! It’s your wedding day! I want to make sure you are getting the most out of your wedding photography experience! 🙂
