My 2023 Year in Review | Hayley Moore Photography

2023, WHAT a year?! I kicked off my season with an editorial shoot all the way in Maryland and ended the season on the coast in North Carolina with Anna + Seth! I went all over the place, near and far; Maryland, Indianapolis, Bloomington, Cincinnati, Anna Maria Island, Alabama, Texas, Savannah, Charleston, many coastal towns off the east side of Lake Michigan, Chicago, Wisconsin, North Carolina. I. Was. So. Obsessed!!

My favorite part of 2023 was diving into a new endeavor that I found crucial for my creative spirit—a passion shoot! It’s where I explore something I’m eager to capture and cultivate it. This year, sailboats took center stage! Being out on the Savannah water, capturing the love between Liz and Evan just months before their wedding, was an incredible experience. I’m eagerly anticipating what the next year’s passion shoot will bring!

Throughout the year, I embraced experimentation and relied on trust. I’ve always loved the film style, especially the documentary feel to the colors that it gives. I feel like I’m aligning with my true passion in the way I edit and shoot, honing a style that truly resonates with me and also still looks authentic.

Among my proudest achievements this year was the feature of my work on Wedding Chicks, Inspired by This, and Ruffled! Witnessing my couples receive the admiration and acknowledgment they deserve for their love stories and the effort poured into their wedding designs is simply incredible!

Finally, I’d like to express my deepest thanks to each and every one of you who’ve grown alongside me, offering boundless love and unwavering support. It’s because of you that I get to pursue my passion, and I wholeheartedly wouldn’t be where I am without your presence! Thank you for transforming this dream into a beautiful reality. This year has been incredible, spanning weddings, engagements, portrait sessions, and cherished moments we’ve shared even beyond the camera lens.

In 2024, I’m hoping for more powerful documentary captures, moments that tell your inner self WHY NOT, less structure and more creative freeness *in the right places*, more moments that vibe with running into the water even though its cold.
