It was 6:30 in the morning where Kristen and Mat were walking around sipping coffee at the Washington, DC Lincoln Memorial. Kristen had to work later that day but she was visiting DC for the weekend so it was the perfect time to meet with Mat and get to know each other.
Fast forward three years later, Kristen had a girls weekend planned to visit friends in Virginia. She was told to dress up Saturday morning for a trip down into the city which her friends had convinced her they had a “reservation” and had to “plan for lots of traffic”. All while Mat and his sister drove down all the way from New York the evening prior to camp out for a sunrise proposal. Mat wanted to recreate their first date and had plenty of help from Kristen’s friends.
These two were so kind and fun to photograph! The way Mat would look at Kristen really warmed my heart and the way he made her smile was beyond cute! While photographing their love, I totally could feel their love, it was so sweet and romantic.
I cannot wait for their big day next month at the beautiful Laurel Hall in Indy, it’s going to be absolutely stunning!
