There’s something extra special about getting invited back into the lives of couples I’ve photographed before, especially when it’s to capture a new chapter like this one.

Becca and Brandon welcomed me into their Indianapolis home for the sweetest in-home baby announcement session, and it honestly felt like catching up with old friends. The second I walked in, they laughed and said, “Bet you didn’t think you’d see us back again so soon, huh?” and they were absolutely right! Just months after their wedding, here they were, glowing with excitement and ready to share their biggest news yet: Baby Helmick coming this December!

We kept things cozy and authentic, documenting their joy right where life happens, snuggled on the couch, curled up in their bedroom, and of course, hanging with their pup (who may or may not be ready for big sibling duties). With an ultrasound photo in hand and smiles that didn’t stop, the love and laughter between these two made every photo feel like a celebration.

In-home sessions like this are always a favorite of mine. There’s something intimate and grounding about photographing people in their own space, no distractions, just the two of them (and a very cute dog) soaking in this milestone together.
