Planning your dream day can feel like a full-time job and if you’re a couple who’s done most of the heavy lifting but wants a pro to tie it all together, Hannah of Blue Belles Weddings might just be your new best friend. Based in Indiana, she specializes in seamless wedding coordination for couples who value organization, calm energy, and a touch of creative magic.
The Heart Behind Blue Belles Weddings, an Indianapolis Wedding Planner
Hi, I’m Hannah! An Indianapolis wedding planner! I work with a wide range of couples, but most often, I serve those who have done much of the planning themselves and need someone to pull all the pieces together. I lovingly call them my “Type C” couples — they know what they want, have most of their vendors booked, but need a pro to bring their Pinterest board to life!
I’ve been in the wedding industry for about six years, on and off. My journey began as part of the opening crew for a new Indy-based wedding venue, where I discovered my love for organization and logistics (and let’s be honest—a good timeline spreadsheet!). Since then, I’ve worn many hats: venue manager, marketing coordinator, event manager, and consultant for various venues across Indiana.
Truthfully, I’ve loved weddings for as long as I can remember—I was even a bride for Halloween one year! There’s just something magical about a day centered around love, joy, and celebration. On the planning side, I’m a bit of a logistics nerd — I find so much satisfaction in watching all the details come to life.
Why She Loves What She Does
I honestly think my favorite part about planning weddings is the connection I get to make with couples and helping make their event even a smidge easier! My love language is Acts of Service, so being able to serve my couples in such a meaningful way feels completely natural.
Indiana Wedding Venues She Can’t Get Enough Of
I looooove Laurel Hall in Indianapolis; I am such a sucker for old mansion-style venues — they have so much history and character!
The Sixpence is one of my favorites, not only from an aesthetic point of view but because their business model and level of organization are something to be in awe of! They are always so helpful — I always know what to expect when I walk in, and their processes are amazing. I’m so excited to see what amazing things they do with their sister venue, Westwood Vowery & Estate.
Two of my bucket list venues up north are Armour House just outside of Chicago, and Shepherd’s Hollow Golf Club in Michigan! Two very different vibes, but both so gorgeous in their own way.
Lessons From the End of the Night for Couples
One of the most common things couples overlook is what happens at the end of the night. So much effort goes into planning the wedding day, but it’s easy to forget that everything you bring in has to go back out!
I always remind my couples to plan ahead for teardown and transport. Go through your décor list, decide who’s bringing it to the venue, and make sure you know who’s taking it home once the party’s over.
Another great option is to use rentals whenever possible. Budgeting for items that can be dropped off and picked up saves you from having to store, haul, or return everything yourself — one less thing to worry about after celebrating all night!
Wedding Trends She’s Totally Loving
I love the 90s sitcom-style or movie trailer wedding videos! They’re so fun and feel so authentic to the couples who choose to do them.
Personal Touches That Make It Yours from an Indianapolis wedding planner
I am loving the use of bar signage, favors, or table numbers as meaningful, personal touches! I have couples who name their signature drinks after their favorite hobbies, have tennis balls with a note from their puppies at home as a favor, or name tables after cities important to the couple instead of numbers.
As an incredibly sentimental person, I also love when couples save a chair for loved ones who have passed during the ceremony.
The Power of the Overlooked Details
Something non-vendors don’t always think about is “moving time.” If your bridal party has a five-minute walk between the ceremony and reception, that’s really closer to ten once you factor in twists, turns, and photos along the way.
Another example is shuttle schedules; buses can’t just drop off and immediately turn around. Building in that extra time keeps the day running smoothly and on schedule.
Staying Grounded on Your Wedding Day
I try to encourage my couples not to lose sight of their partner. Stay attached at the hip, go to the bar together — in every instance, stay together. It’s hard to get wrapped up in things that might not look right or might not be running on time if you look at your new husband or wife and remember what the day is actually about.
Her Favorite Wedding Day Moment
My absolute favorite is the moment the couple walks back down the aisle after being presented — specifically after they get past all the guests and cameras. They have these giant smiles and look at each other like, “Oh my gosh, we did it!” It’s a moment that gets forgotten among all the other special memories, but those looks are my favorite.
A Little Encouragement for Engaged Couples
The most important thing to remember during the planning process is what the true purpose of the day is: celebrating the love you have with your partner, surrounded by all the people you love, from every chapter of your life, in the same room.
It might feel like choosing the right song to walk down the aisle to or the perfect napkin fold will be life-altering, but when you look back, what will matter most is that you married the person you love.
Coffee, Calm, and Cozy Nights In
I’m actually such a homebody! I love being home with my dogs and watching some mind-numbing form of media to clear my head — both before and after wedding days, haha.
