Lincoln Park Engagement Photos with Emi + Andres
There’s something timeless about Lincoln Park engagement photos, especially when paired with a love story like Emi and Andres’. This session was everything you want from engagement photos in Chicago: warm, personal, and full of nostalgia. From the streets of Lincoln Park to the iconic Nature Boardwalk and finishing by the lake at North Avenue Beach, their shoot brought together some of the best Chicago engagement photo locations.
A Chicago Love Story That Started in 2020
Emi and Andres met on Hinge in July 2020, just after graduating college and moving back in with their parents. Like many pandemic-era relationships, the beginning had its hurdles. Still, after weeks of chatting, they finally planned a first date in Long Grove at Enzo & Lucia. That night, they ate, got ice cream, and talked for six hours. Emi later told her mom, “If he’s not the one, I don’t know who is.” And she was right.
A Theatrical Proposal in the Heart of Chicago
Fast-forward four years, Andres crafted a proposal that was both sentimental and theatrical. A theatre lover with a special fondness for the musical Six, Emi had no idea what was coming after the curtain fell at the Nederlander Theatre. As she walked out, both families were there waiting. The proposal happened on the sidewalk, right beside an art store, a nod to Emi’s late grandfather who was an artist. The ring? A stunning combination of heirloom diamonds from both their grandmothers. Later, they returned to their apartment to a surprise engagement party with friends. Classic, thoughtful, and full of heart.
Chicago Engagement Photos at Lincoln Park
We kicked off the session in Lincoln Park, a meaningful spot for Emi and Andres when they lived in Chicago. They used to walk these streets often, and capturing their Chicago engagement photos in a place filled with their shared memories added an extra layer of authenticity to every frame. Whether it was a quiet glance or Emi throwing her head back in laughter, there was no “posing” with these two, just presence, connection, and comfort.
From there, we moved to the Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk. It’s one of the best Chicago engagement photo locations for a reason, that balance of city skyline and lush greenery is unmatched. To wrap it up, we hit North Avenue Beach. This spot is a must when shooting engagement photos in Chicago…the lakefront and skyline make for iconic, sweeping backdrops. Emi and Andres walked hand in hand by the water as the sun dropped low, and honestly, it felt like a preview of what’s to come next summer.
Emi and Andres’ Lincoln Park engagement photos felt effortless. Their love is visible in their gestures, in the way they laugh, and in how they move together. I’m beyond excited for their Armor House wedding next summer, which is bound to be as meaningful and intentional as everything they do.
