Kristina and Sean Paul first crossed paths at their local community college, where they were lab partners in biology. They stayed in touch over the years, and when Sean Paul learned that Kristina was single after a long-term relationship, things quickly blossomed. Their first date was nothing short of magical, taking place at Disney World. A year later, while in Guam, Sean Paul rented out a restaurant and proposed to Kristina in a romantic gesture.
When brainstorming ideas for Kristina and Sean-Paul’s engagement session, her immediate thought was the Swan House in Atlanta. This stunning venue, one of the most beautiful North Georgia wedding venues that exudes Southern romantic charm. They envisioned an estate with sprawling gardens and an overall dreamy engagement session vibe. However, as our planning progressed, Kristina began to suggest a few other locations that were equally captivating. Among them, one stood out to me the most: The Biltmore Estate.
Having previously visited this incredible location, I had been dreaming of photographing a couple there, so it felt like a win-win for both of us! The Biltmore Estate checked every box for their vision—majestic architecture, lush gardens, and breathtaking mountain views.
Once we finalized the location, we booked our hotels, chose a date, and started envisioning the specific spots we wanted to capture at the estate. If you know me, you know I absolutely love traveling for weddings and engagement sessions, so this alone had me giddy with excitement! Planning the session was exhilarating but not without its challenges. The Biltmore Estate is iconic, and finding the perfect time for our shoot required careful coordination. We also worked together to select outfits that would complement the estate’s timeless elegance while ensuring Kristina and Sean-Paul felt comfortable and authentic throughout the session.
So why did we fall in love with the Biltmore Estate? While the photos will undoubtedly speak for themselves, I can’t help but gush about this location. It truly is every person’s dream venue! How could you not want to get married at one of the most beautiful North Carolina wedding venues?
Nestled in Asheville, North Carolina, the Biltmore Estate is a historic landmark that radiates elegance and charm. The mansion itself is designed in a Châteauesque style inspired by French architecture, with intricate details ranging from the ornate stonework to the steeply pitched roofs. But for me, the real magic lies in the sprawling gardens, designed by none other than Frederick Law Olmsted—the visionary behind New York’s Central Park.
Among the gardens, the Italian Garden was one of our favorites to explore. Its tranquil reflecting pools and lush greenery created a serene atmosphere that perfectly matched the romantic vibe of the session. And just beyond the estate, the Blue Ridge Mountains provided a breathtaking backdrop that elevated the entire experience. Standing there, surrounded by the estate’s grandeur and the mountains’ natural beauty, it was impossible not to feel inspired.
When we arrived at the Biltmore Estate, I was immediately struck by the sheer size of the grounds. It was even more awe-inspiring than I had remembered! After taking a moment to soak it all in, I began scouting the locations we had planned to use for the shoot. The views of the Blue Ridge Mountains were simply irresistible, and I knew they had to feature prominently in the photos.
Overall, this experience was a dream come true. Photographing Kristina and Sean-Paul at such an extraordinary location was nothing short of magical. Every detail of the Biltmore Estate, from the gardens to the mountain vistas, contributed to creating memories they will cherish forever—and I feel so honored to have captured them.
I can’t wait to celebrate their love in Georgia next spring!
