Wow, am I so excited to be sharing today’s destination engagement blog post! This engagement session features two cute faces surrounded by the beauty of Phoenix, Arizona. I always get so giddy when couples want to do a destination engagement session because we all get to adventure and have a new experience together. Back when I first met Katie + Jerremy on the phone during their first consultation, they had mentioned their love for Arizona so we made this session work and I am SO happy to share all of my favorites from our time during this beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona spring day!

But…you probably want to know a little about the couple! Katie + Jerremy first met through the army in 2018. They were both attending a course out in Fort Huachuca, Arizona (part of the reason why Arizona is so special to them.) Katie’s mission was to cheer up Jerremy since he was feeling a little homesick, this turned into a blossoming friendship! They would explore Tucson and Phoenix along with their friends and not soon after their trip in Arizona, Katie + Jerremy decided to attend a wedding TOGETHER since they had originally lived close back home.

After making it official, three years later they bought a house together. Once the paperwork was complete and they had lunch in their bellies, they decided to go back to the house and walk through everything now that it was THEIRS. When they got there, Katie had noticed Jerremy acting super awkward which wasn’t like him at all. When they walked in the living room, Jerremy had asked her, “what do you think our first memory should be?” Taken back by the odd question, Katie was unsure of a good answer to his question. Little did she expect, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!

These two are best friends and soul mates, they make the cutest couple! Now onto our adventure…

I spent HOURS on end scouting for the perfect location because I had been DREAMING of a shoot in Arizona. At first, I was thinking Sedona but I quickly realized they don’t have fields of Saguaro’s like Phoenix does…so we made a change to our location and I am SO happy we did (also so thankful for Katie + Jerremy’s flexibility with the location change AND date change due to weather.) Though you can find a lot of fields of cacti in the central Arizona area, a lot of places require permits for photographers. But after a bunch of googling, mapping things out, and on-site scouting, I found the most beautiful spot for the two!

May I present to you just ONE of my favorite engagement sessions ever! I cannot wait for their big day at the Owl Ridge in Indiana!

I had been dreaming of a shoot like this since my love for Arizona and goodness, what a dream come true! How cool (or shall I say warm) is it to have your engagement session in the desert? Luckily the weather was JUST perfect!

I have such gorgeous brides, Katie you are SO stunning!!!

Right as we got to this location, I claimed our area to finish up the session and a flood of photographers came in. We got so lucky because apparently this is a HOT SPOT!

I had to find the prettiest cactus for the ring shot and turns out, the prickly pear is one of Katie’s favorites!!
