Not in an obvious place like a church bulletin or Instagram post, but something unexpected. After their movie night ended and Kyle went to leave, he reached into his jacket pocket (which he hadn’t worn in months) and pulled out… a card with a Bible verse on it.

Elizabeth sobbed. It was the kind of quiet affirmation she had hoped for. From that moment on, she knew this love was something sacred.

The Surprise Proposal in Newport, Kentucky

Fast forward to March 21st. Kyle planned a weekend getaway to Cincinnati for a concert with friends, but the best moment of the trip came during their alone time in Newport, Kentucky. After a sweet morning at the aquarium, an afternoon of mini golf, and a peaceful walk, they crossed the Purple People Bridge as Taylor Swift played in the background. Elizabeth was mid-song when Kyle said he had something in his shoe. She shrugged it off until he repeated himself… and that’s when she looked down to see him on one knee.

She was speechless (again).

As tears welled up in both of their eyes, he asked her to marry him. Through laughter, sobs, and sheer disbelief, she said “YES.” Kyle hadn’t told anyone, not even her mom, so the moment was just theirs. Calling her mom, Elizabeth cried out, “He wants to marry ME? Out of everyone, he’s choosing ME?”
