So…you’ve said yes!!! YAY!!! Chances are, you have or already have a date and venue in mind!! So what comes next?
As a photographer myself, I know how critical the engagement session is in my wedding photography experience. I get to know my bride and groom, they get to know how I photograph ⏤ it’s simply a mini trial run for your wedding day!
In my wedding collections, I include a complimentary engagement session. And here’s why…
1) TO CONNECT WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
One of my goals on your wedding day is for you two to feel comfortable in front of the camera ⏤ the engagement session will do that! Imagine having someone taking photos of you on your wedding day and you barely even know them and their style. Scary right?
That’s why I love the e-session, it helps us connect and get to know each other. Once you see we are on the same page, you will feel relaxed and become a pro for your wedding day.
This session is not only about connection, it’s about having fun!!! When you open up and have a good time, you will remember this exciting moment! I want to learn how you interact with each other so I can capture them juuuust right on your big day!!
2) MAKE IT A DATE NIGHT!
I absolutely love suggesting to my couples to make their engagement session a date night! You got all dolled up, had a great time together, why not plan for dinner afterwards?!
You’re in the middle of wedding planning. I know how exhausting it can be ⏤ give yourself a break! Take this time to focus on each other and the moment while you can.

When I photograph couples, it’s not just “smile and look at the camera!” I want you to have fun and to enjoy the moments together. Seeing couples in love and having a great time warms my heart and at the end of the day, that’s what the engagement session is about!
BONUS: Girls…you know how much fun it is to get your hair and makeup done! It’s sooo nice to get pampered every once in awhile…so make it happen! Talk to your hair and makeup artist about doing a trial run. They would be so down for it!
3) USING THE IMAGES
Spice up your save-the-dates by adding your engagement session photos on ’em! Friends and family love to see your faces!
Or maybe you want to use the images for your wedding website, an engagement announcement, prints for your friends and family as a gift, or even creating a wedding guest book full of the beautiful images!
4) DOCUMENTING YOUR STORY
One of the first questions I ask my couples while setting up the engagement session is, “What place is special two both of you?” Did you two first meet at a coffee shop? Was your first date at the ice rink? Or maybe did he propose on the coolest hike of your lives?
These little details are a major part of your story together! These photos will mean so much more to you than if you had your engagement session at a random location you had never been to.
Being engaged only comes once in a lifetime and by capturing this raw moment, you will be able to cherish and share your story with friends and family. So let’s make it fun!!!
BONUS: Do you have a fur babe? Pleeeeease bring him or her! They’re part of the family too…and I absolutely love furry friends!
Let’s get you in the books! If you are ready to schedule your engagement session, follow this link and fill out the contact info!
Describe your ideal engagement session down below! Where would it took place? What season would be the most fun? Give me all the details!
