This destination wedding in the romantic city of Charleston, planned by the amazing Buttercup Events, captures the essence of coastal elegance and is sure to inspire any feminine bride. Featuring pops of blue, floral prints, lush arrangements, coastal charm, and a series of lively events, it brings a refreshing touch to the wedding scene. The event took place at the historic Lowndes Grove, a picturesque waterfront venue on the Charleston peninsula. With its main house backdrop, formal rooms adorned with elegant architecture, live oak groves, and a relaxed setting, it was the perfect location.
The bride’s details included a full invitation suite with floral accents, elegant fonts, and shades of blue made by the incredible Rebecca Green Design. Erika wore floral peony perfume, Pat McGrath lipstick, and carried a handheld lace fan exuding vintage elegance. Her gown was nothing short of enchanting, adorned with pearls, sequins, and embroidered floral lace motifs, featuring a sweetheart neckline with exposed boning. Complementing her gown were the classic Bella Belle Vivian shoes, embroidered with blue beaded leaves and ivory flower buds on see-through illusion mesh, serving as her “something blue.” The bridesmaids wore floral dresses in various prints and shades of blue. The groom donned a dark navy suit, while his groomsmen wore tan suits, perfectly fitting the coastal blue theme. His personalized cufflinks, engraved with “always & forever,” added a sentimental touch.
The outdoor ceremony featured floral arrangements lining the aisle and two pillars holding large, lush arrangements at the end. The live oaks and Ashley River provided a romantic backdrop. Guests enjoyed refreshing drinks, hand fans to cool off, and breathtaking views, with their baby pup Bentley joining the ceremony. After the ceremony, guests mingled in front of the house with cocktails in hand.
For the reception, the bride and groom made a grand entrance to Taylor Swift, kicking off the party. Reception details included florals on every table, patterned blue and white tablecloths, and a sweetheart table for an intimate dinner. The escort wall featured blue heart-shaped sunglasses that guided guests to their seats. Each table had menu cards with floral blue accents and elegant fonts, complemented by blue napkins.
When the dance floor opened, the bride changed into a square-neck tulle mini dress with puff sleeves and pearl embellishments, paired with cowgirl boots. From heart-shaped sunglasses to dancing and mingling, the sunset over the Ashley River, and ending the night with a sparkler exit in front of the house, this wedding was truly unforgettable.
