From High School Friends to Forever
Peyton and Ryan’s love story began back in high school when they shared mutual friends. They knew of each other, but it wasn’t until Ryan started working at the Nike outlet store alongside Peyton that sparks truly started to fly. Between break room conversations, inside jokes, and a bit of flirtation, it was only a matter of time before they became each other’s person.
Shortly after making their relationship official, Peyton made the bold decision to study abroad in Ireland for her first semester of college. But Ryan couldn’t stay away for long—he flew across the ocean to visit her, and it was there, in the rolling hills of Ireland, that they exchanged their very first “I love you.”
A Magical Christmas Eve Proposal in Charleston
Fast forward six years, and these two had built a life together in Charleston, South Carolina. After moving from Northern Virginia, they bought a house and adopted their sweet pup, Penny—life was already feeling like a dream.
On Christmas Eve, Peyton and Ryan were out with his brother and fiancée, strolling through the twinkling lights of downtown Charleston. As they stopped in front of the grand Christmas tree outside the Hotel Bennett, Ryan leaned in and whispered that this was going to be a very special year for them. Before Peyton could fully process his words, he was down on one knee, holding out the ring that would officially start their forever.
Exploring Downtown Charleston for Their Engagement Photos
Last week, I had the absolute joy of capturing Peyton and Ryan’s Charleston engagement photos, and let me tell you—it was nothing short of dreamy!
We started our session in historic downtown Charleston, wandering through the cobblestone streets and past the iconic pastel-colored homes. Charleston engagement photography is truly special, with every corner of this city offering a mix of elegance, charm, and Southern romance.
