Kali + Jordan both attended Grand Valley State University and were both involved in Greek Life. In March of 2017, they were both on a spring break trip in Daytona with their separate friend groups and that’s how they both connected. Fast forward to the summer, they both added each other on Snapchat and Kali had commented on several photos of his cousins kids that she thought were so cute! This was just the beginning for the two.
Just a few months later, Jordan picked up Kali from her sorority house and took her out for a steak dinner (her fave!) And just about five years later, Jordan graduated and moved back to Detroit and Kali transferred to Valparaiso to finish nursing school. They continued their long distance relationship of four years until they finally moved in together in April of 2022. It was ALL worth it!
It was just 6 months after moving in together, Kali and her friend went to go look at engagement rings! She found a ring she adored and slipped Jordan the jewelers business card. While they were in the process of buying their first home, they were expecting the call from the title company and sure enough, an unknown number comes in, Jordan answered it on speaker, but it just so happened to be the jeweler telling him the ring is ready to be picked up…needless to say, Kali knew the moment was coming soon.
When they were on a weekend trip in San Antonio, Jordan proposed to Kali on the kissing bridge on the San Antonio Riverwalk. Everything was perfect and the most important inclusion for Kali was that her people were there (as well as an audience of strangers haha)!
Kali + I had originally talked about having their engagement session on the coast of Lake Michigan, but one night Kali was like, why don’t we just fly you out to Texas (where they live currently) for their engagement session. Hands down, I was ready! So we did just that! Kali + Jordan shared all of the Texas classics!
I am so excited to celebrate Kali + Jordan at the Ivy House in Michigan next summer!
